Ever wanted to capture a fly fishing related story right here in Ontario? Now's your chance.

We're looking for films 3 to 10 minutes in length. Films must be shot in Ontario, featuring fly fishing, including local adventures, or trips to more remote locations in the province.

We're accepting submissions from May 5, 2023 until January 1, 2024. Official selections will be made by January 30th.

Top submissions will be screened at the film festival in February 2024 - location and exact date TBD, but it will be epic.

From Hamilton to Hearst from brook trout to bowfin, it's time we explore Ontario fly fishing and all the amazing experiences we can have right here in our home province.

Submissions should be shot in, at minimum, 1080 HD but 4k is preferred.

No camera? No problem! We'll also be considering films shot on mobile devices for submission just be sure to film in landscape or 16X9 format.

Submissions should also include a 30-60 second "trailer" for the movie.

Aside from the glory of being on the big screen we'll also be showering the winners with glorious prizes (prizes TBD).

Following the February screening, all films will be made available on the So Fly youtube channel.

It goes without saying that there will be ZERO tolerance for sexist, racist, homophobic, or transphobic remarks, music, or imagery. Result in any of the above will mean immediate disqualification.

We swear, we get it. But if you do swear, please bleep it out.

We like to have a beer, we get that too. But problematic imagery or over-consumption of any substance (legal and especially otherwise) won't be tolerated either.

Keep fish wet! If you're planning on releasing a fish let's all do our best to follow best fish handling practices.

We know there's a LOT of pressure to get that hero shot but it won't make or break your submission. We're interested in a great story, not fish porn. And we'd rather not kill fish for content, full stop. It isn't our style, and we won't stand for it. So let's do our best to keep our fishy friends wet and return back to the water safely.
